10th Annual Sierra Hull Bluegrass Festival, Byrdstown, TN - October 12-13

From the desk of Byrdstown, TN Mayor Chris Thompson:

This year will be the 10th Annual Sierra Hull Bluegrass Festival. To commemorate this occasion we will have a two day festival.  It has been discussed for years, and this year we decided to go for it.  To make it a success we  you to spread the word and join us for both Friday's and Saturday's performances and festivities.  There will be two charitable fundraisers taking place.  One of them is our 2nd Annual Sierra Hull Festival Cruise-In to benefit "Teddy Bears For Children In Crisis."  Each car, truck or motorcycle participating, will be asked to give a donation to go toward the purchase of  "Teddy Bears for Children in Crisis." The bears will be given to children as a way to provide comfort during traumatic situations. We send them to firemen, Emergency Medical Technicians, police officers, and medical professionals who come in contact with children during these crises. There will be free T-Shirts for the first 25 to cruise in along with door prizes for participants.  We are also having our 1st  Sierra Hull Bluegrass Festival 5K Run/Walk with all of the proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  A special thanks to 94.7 fm, The Country Giant, who will be helping us promote this.  Friday night's concert will include The Lindsey Family which is made up of Mom, Dad and eleven talented children who play toe-tappin',  heart-touchin', traditional music that is sure to make you smile.  Also performing Friday night will be Cody Hull & Vertical Limit.  Cody has already emerged as a leading light in a new generation of bluegrass musicians.  Sierra will  join Cody on-stage for a little fun.  Saturday's evening concert performances will begin with Balsam Range , winner of the 2011 IBMA award for Song of The Year  "Trains I Missed."  Balsam Range is a group of five outstanding acoustic musicians and singers from Haywood County, North Carolina . The headliner for the festival is, of course,  Byrdstown's very own Sierra Hull.  Sierra's career has really taken off.  I could write a whole page on her accomplishments but I think it would be better if you came on out and experienced her music for yourself.  This year's festival is sure to be one of the best yet.  For festival information, visit our  website: http://sierrahullfestival.com or check us out on Facebook.  Hope to see you there!  Chris Thompson, Mayor
